Christmas Holidays

Last week of term

It has been a busy week for the infants so far. We are learning about owls. We have been looking at pictures of owls and writing about them.

We also disected owl pellets. In the pellets we found lots of interesting things. Bones, clothes moth lava and feathers

We have been well behaved most of the time but occasionally the teachers had to offer us treats to keep us in order!

History of Peak Forest and the Primary School

As we build Peak Forest Primary School’s website we want to include pages on the history of the village and the school. If anyone has interesting fact, figures, pictures and stories that we can use please let us know. Feel free to do this by adding comments onto this blog entry. Be sure to leave your name as well!

Buxton Carnival 2009

Although this is being posted well after the event, I thought we should post a comment about the 2009 Buxton Well Dressing Carnival. With only a couple of weeks to go before the carnival took place,  Peak Forest Primary School decided it should enter a float. Given that it is a small village school, to boost numbers they teamed up with Peak Forest Playgroup where there are many siblings of the school children.

After a lot of frantic activity a trailer was found (courtesy of Lomas’s) and staff and children all made costumes. The result was called “Down on the Farm” and you can see from the picture that they looked fantastic and all had a great time.

The school also won an amazing 3 – yes 3 – 1st prizes. Best Tableau on Vehicle, Most Humorous Entry, and Best Tableau.

Dear Parents,

On Wednesday 27^th January the whole School are visiting Manchester Museum and the total cost of this visit including transport there and back is being paid by PFS & CA.

We will be leaving School at 9am and be returning by 3.45pm.

All children need to be in School uniform and bring a packed lunch, including a non-fizzy drink in an unbreakable container, in a suitable bag/ rucsac. Children may bring a maximum amount of £2 in a named purse to spend in the museum shop. Each child will be fully responsible for their money.

Could you please return the attached permission slip asap please. (20^th Jan at the latest)

If anybody would like to order from the attached book club leaflet, could all orders be back by Wed 20^th Jan. The School receives a percentage of all books orders received.
